Hysolar has received certification for the production and distribution of green hydrogen, as per the European Renewable Energy Directive, to be finalized by the end of 2025. This certification confirms that Hysolar’s hydrogen production process results in zero emissions, including CO2 and particulate matter.

Since its establishment in 2019, Hysolar has set up necessary infrastructure in Nieuwegein, including a hydrogen filling station opened in 2021 and a production facility expected to commence operations in 2024. The certification process, in compliance with the directive defining Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO), involves strict regulations regarding the origin of green electricity used for production. Hysolar's project team, supported by an external advisor from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, is preparing for this comprehensive certification process.
