HyTerra to Test McCoy-1 Hydrogen Well in Kansas with Twiggy Forrest's $21.9M Funding
HyTerra Limited, backed by Twiggy Forrest, is set to commence production testing at the McCoy-1 hydrogen well in Kansas for CY25. With $21.9 million in funding, the company aims to evaluate the flow potential of hydrogen and helium from the well, which was drilled to a depth of 1,695m. The program follows the confirmation of elevated gas shows and aims to assess sustainable flow rates and reservoir connectivity as part of the appraisal phase.

HyTerra Limited, supported by Twiggy Forrest, will conduct production testing at the McCoy-1 hydrogen well in Kansas for CY25, utilizing $21.9 million in funding. The well is part of a broader exploration program that has already shown elevated hydrogen and helium gas potential.
Drilled to 1,695m, McCoy-1 represents a strategic shift in HyTerra's approach, moving from historical validations to proprietary geological interpretations. The production test aims to determine gas composition, sustainable flow rates, and reservoir behavior. Kansas is also recognized for its hydrogen demand, particularly in ammonia production and transportation.
