Hyundai and Kia Launch MobED Alliance for Custom Robotics Solutions Development
Hyundai Motor and Kia launched the MobED Alliance at the 2026 Smart Factory & Automation Industry Exhibition in Seoul. The alliance aims to accelerate the commercialization of their mobile robot platform, MobED, designed for diverse applications. Key partners include component manufacturers, robotics solution companies, and the Korea AI and Robotics Industry Association. The partnership will focus on developing industry-specific top modules for various tasks and expanding the robotics ecosystem.

MobED features a wheeled drive system with flexible integration for various applications, including logistics and surveillance. The partnership aims to provide complete, industry-specific robotic solutions rather than standalone products, with plans to develop 10 specialized top modules. MobED received a best innovation award at CES 2026 and will evolve through this collaboration.
