Hyundai Invests $6.3 Billion in South Korea for AI Data Center and Robot Factory
Hyundai Motor will invest 9 trillion won ($6.3 billion) in South Korea to establish an AI data center, a robot factory, and a hydrogen plant, aiming to enhance technologies like autonomous vehicles and industrial robots. The project, primarily focused on the AI data center with 50,000 GPUs, is expected to create 71,000 jobs and strengthen the regional economy through partnerships with seven government agencies and Nvidia.

Hyundai Motor plans to invest 9 trillion won ($6.3 billion) in South Korea for an AI data center, a robot factory, and a hydrogen facility. The investment will focus on accelerating autonomous vehicle and industrial robot technologies.
The AI data center is set to receive 5.8 trillion won, equipped with 50,000 GPUs for training purposes. The project will include a green hydrogen production plant generating 80 tons daily, supported by a solar power plant. The initiative aims to generate 71,000 jobs and attract global partners, fostering innovation in the Saemangeum region, located 270 km southwest of Seoul.
