Hyundai Partners for Hydrogen Ecosystem Development in Hong Kong
Hyundai Motor Group has established a MoU with nine partners to develop a hydrogen ecosystem in Hong Kong by 2030. This initiative supports the region's Climate Action Plan and aims to enhance hydrogen production and transportation infrastructure.

On May 18, 2026, Hyundai Motor Group signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with nine partners from Korea, Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland, and France to create a hydrogen ecosystem in Hong Kong, targeted for completion by the end of 2030. The project encompasses waste-to-hydrogen production, hydrogen refuelling stations, and the deployment of fuel cell buses, leveraging systems from HTWO Guangzhou.
The site for the project will be confirmed in 2027, followed by facility design. This initiative aligns with Hong Kong's 2024 Hydrogen Roadmap, which is part of the city's goal for carbon neutrality by 2050. The successful execution of this project could strengthen the hydrogen market in the Asia-Pacific region.
