Iberdrola Australia has completed the installation of 609,522 solar panels at the Broadsound solar farm, which is part of a 377 MWdc solar project. This development follows the integration of the 180 MW/360 MWh Broadsound Battery into the AEMO Market Management System, initiating its testing phase.
Construction commenced in September 2024, marking Iberdrola's first facility in Queensland. The company aims to invest €2 to €3 billion in Australia's clean energy transition, targeting a 4 GW renewable energy portfolio. Iberdrola's operations include onshore wind and solar farms, with several additional projects under development.
