Iberdrola Restructures International Renewable Business Operations
Iberdrola has reorganized its international renewable energy segment to align with country-specific management structures. This change aims to enhance local responsiveness, particularly in Spain, the UK, the US, and Brazil, where different regulatory environments impact renewable initiatives.

Iberdrola has shifted its international renewable energy business to operate under the management of its country directors in key markets: Spain, the UK, the US, and Brazil. José Oriol, the former head of Iberdrola Renovables Internacional, has transitioned to lead data center operations following the company's strategic pivot towards this sector.
Iberdrola has established a joint venture with Echelon Data Centres to develop data centers in Spain, retaining a 20% stake and focusing on land acquisition for these projects. The company reported a record profit of €6.285 billion in 2026, marking a 12% increase from the previous year.
The upcoming shareholder meeting will address the ratification of CEO Pedro Azagra and the approval of a €0.427 dividend per share. Potential risks include opposition to the proposed multi-year bonus for executives amid changing governance dynamics.
