ICG Invests €500M in W Power Storage for German Battery Energy Storage Systems

ICG's European Infrastructure arm is investing up to €500 million in partnership with W Power Storage and its stakeholders, including Wirth Group, for a multi-gigawatt battery energy storage systems (BESS) project in Germany. The investment will support assets that are currently operational and under construction.

This partnership aims to enhance grid stability and integrate renewable energy, with an emphasis on scalable battery storage solutions. ICG's expertise in finance and strategy is expected to facilitate the development of critical storage projects, positioning W Power Storage as a key player in the energy transition in Germany.
