ICRC Launches Presidential Project Development Committee for Ikom Multipurpose Dam and Hydropower Project
The ICRC has convened the first meeting of the Presidential Project Development Committee (PDC) for the Ikom Multipurpose Dam and Hydropower Project, marking the start of its development as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP). This initiative stems from a high-level stakeholder meeting at the Presidential Villa, where the project was identified as a strategic national intervention.
The PDC is tasked with overseeing the project to enhance flood resilience, energy security, and regional economic growth in Cross River State, while delivering approximately 250 MW of renewable energy. Key next steps include reviewing feasibility studies and determining the appropriate PPP structure. The project governance framework aims to ensure transparent and responsible development in compliance with national standards.
