IHCL Hotels Implement Major Sustainability Initiatives for World Environment Day
IHCL hotels in Delhi-NCR have achieved significant advancements in sustainability, notably through water stewardship initiatives at multiple properties. The adoption of LEED Zero Water certification at Taj Mahal, New Delhi, and advancements in energy efficiency demonstrate a strong commitment to environmental responsibility.

IHCL's Taj Mahal, New Delhi has attained LEED Zero Water certification, achieving 97% water recycling efficiency, with 92% of treated water reused. The hotel employs rainwater harvesting and advanced effluent treatment systems for operational sustainability.
At Taj Surajkund Resort & Spa, approximately 3,500 KL of water is treated monthly for reuse in various applications, supported by a solar power project expected to generate 146,000 kWh annually. Taj Damdama Lake Resort & Spa's water conservation efforts include a bottling plant that eliminated over 1,40,000 plastic bottles.
Taj City Centre Gurugram has installed a 150 kW heat pump and dual-fuel kits to enhance energy efficiency. IHCL's Paathya initiative continues to drive resource efficiency and sustainability across its operations.
