IIT Bombay and Columbia University Establish AI for Manufacturing Centre in Delhi
IIT Bombay and Columbia University signed an MoU to create a Centre of AI for Manufacturing, aimed at advancing AI systems for real-world manufacturing. The initiative, supported by India's Ministry of Education, will focus on enhancing India's manufacturing ecosystem through human-centric AI. The Centre will cover various manufacturing sectors including semiconductors, robotics, and pharmaceuticals, and aims to develop interoperable AI infrastructure.

IIT Bombay and Columbia University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a Centre of AI for Manufacturing. The signing ceremony took place in Delhi, attended by various educational leaders.
This Centre aims to develop human-centric AI systems for the manufacturing industry and is part of the Ministry of Education's initiative to create multiple AI centres. It will focus on sectors such as semiconductors, robotics, and pharmaceuticals, and will involve industry partners. The collaboration seeks to leverage the strengths of both institutions to create interoperable AI infrastructure that addresses real-world manufacturing challenges.
