Imperial Metals' Red Chris Mine Exceeds 2025 Production Targets Amid 2026 Output Decline

STRATEGIC MINERALS

Imperial Metals' Red Chris copper-and-gold joint venture in British Columbia exceeded its 2025 production targets, yielding 93.1 million pounds of copper and 92,429 ounces of gold. This performance was attributed to higher grades and better gold recovery, which also increased Imperial's share, as it owns 30% of the operation. Despite this success, Newmont predicts a decrease in 2026 output, estimating production will drop to 60-66 million pounds of copper and 47,500-52,500 ounces of gold due to transitioning to lower-grade ore and ongoing preparations for the next open-pit mining phase.
