India and Singapore Celebrate 60 Years of Diplomatic Relations with Strategic Partnerships and High-Level Visits
In 2025, India and Singapore marked 60 years of diplomatic ties with significant visits and a roadmap to enhance their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Singapore's President Tharman Shanmugaratnam visited Delhi in January, unveiling a joint logo for the anniversary.
Prime Minister Lawrence Wong also visited India in September, where both leaders reaffirmed commitments to deepen trade amidst global disruptions. Key engagements included External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar's July visit, discussing bilateral initiatives, and a proposal for an undersea cable to transmit solar energy.
The Singapore-India Maritime Bilateral Exercise (SIMBEX-25) took place in July, strengthening naval cooperation. High-level dialogues included Army Staff Talks in March and Defence Working Group Meetings in September. Various ministers from both countries engaged in multiple bilateral visits, enhancing cooperation in sectors like defence, technology, and trade.
