India Approves 12 MW Hydroelectric Project in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand
The Indian government has approved a 12 MW hydroelectric project in Tankul, Dharchula, Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, which will benefit local regions and neighboring Nepal. The run-of-the-river project, estimated to cost Rs 146 crore, is expected to generate 69.66 million kWh annually and will utilize double-jet Pelton turbines at its powerhouse in Mangti.

The Indian government approved a 12 MW hydroelectric project in Tankul, Dharchula, Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. The run-of-the-river project will benefit Dharchula, Gunji, the Adi Kailash region, and neighboring Nepal.
The project will generate 69.66 million kWh annually and is estimated to cost Rs 146 crore. The powerhouse will be constructed in Mangti and will utilize double-jet Pelton turbines.
