India-Tanzania Trade Reaches $9.02 Billion Amid Joint Trade Committee Discussions
Bilateral trade between India and Tanzania increased to $9.02 billion in 2025-26, with a focus on enhancing economic cooperation. The recent Joint Trade Committee meeting addressed local currency trade, healthcare, education, mining, and digital collaboration, reinforcing commitment to mutual economic growth.

Bilateral trade between India and Tanzania rose to $9.02 billion in 2025-26, up from $8.64 billion in the previous year. The fifth session of the India-Tanzania Joint Trade Committee, held in Dar es Salaam, discussed trade settlement in local currencies, long-term business visas for Indian nationals, and cooperation in various sectors including mining, healthcare, and education.
India's development cooperation includes over $1.1 billion in Lines of Credit for water infrastructure projects, benefiting over 6 million people. TEXMiN IIT Dhanbad also engaged in a policy dialogue on India's mining sector, focusing on Mining 4.0 and critical minerals. This collaboration may enhance India's self-reliance and strengthen trade relations in strategic sectors.
