India to Join European Consortiums for Sixth-Generation Fighter Aircraft Development
India's Defence Ministry aims to collaborate with one of two European consortia developing sixth-generation fighter jets, which include the UK, Italy, Japan, Germany, and France. The Indian Air Force plans to start considerations on this project to maintain competitiveness in advanced aircraft development. Additionally, India is progressing on its indigenous fifth-generation fighter, the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), with plans for six squadrons to be operational by 2035.

India's Defence Ministry is seeking to join one of two European consortia developing sixth-generation fighter aircraft, consisting of the UK, Italy, and Japan in one, and Germany and France in the other. The Indian Air Force will begin discussions on this collaboration to ensure it keeps pace in advanced aircraft development.
Concurrently, India is developing the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) and plans to induct six squadrons of fifth-generation fighters by 2035. India is also co-developing a 110-120 KN engine with a French company for these aircraft.
