Indian Army Seeks Development Partner for Indigenous Swarm Drone System
The Indian Army aims to establish a sovereign swarm drone capability, inviting bids for a unified control framework. This initiative highlights the growing importance of networked drone swarms in modern military operations.

The Indian Army has initiated a project to develop an indigenous swarm drone capability, inviting bids via a Request for Proposal (RFP). The project spans six months and consists of two phases, starting with a two-month focus on creating a ground control station that integrates existing drones without hardware modifications.
A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for the second week of May. The project aims to establish a secure command layer for drone operations in contested environments, reducing reliance on external systems. The final phase will include a live demonstration of coordinated drone missions, emphasizing the operational significance of swarm technology in surveillance and combat roles.
