Indiantown Council Advances Data Center Rezoning Proposal
Indiantown Village Council approved steps for rezoning 5,700 acres for a potential data center, pending final approval. A public hearing on April 30 will determine if additional commitments for development will be enforced, addressing residents' concerns.

The Indiantown Village Council has taken action toward rezoning 5,700 acres owned by Florida Power & Light (FPL) for a potential data center, with a public hearing set for April 30 for final approval. The proposed plan includes additional commitments and development standards that may provide greater protections for residents compared to traditional zoning.
FPL has indicated that it will limit daily traffic to 7,200 trips, a threshold anticipated with 2 million square feet of development. This plan contrasts with the possibility of up to 500 million square feet under conventional zoning, as noted by Village Manager Taryn Kryzda. Despite potential benefits, residents are expressing concerns regarding noise and community impact associated with data centers.
