India's Chandrayaan-3 Set for Historic Moon Landing This Week

Chandrayaan-3 is scheduled for launch this week from Sriharikota, marking India's entry as the fourth country to successfully land on the Moon. The mission aims to demonstrate soft landing and rover operations for 14 days on the lunar surface, equipped with multiple cameras for data collection.
This follow-on mission to Chandrayaan-2 has undergone extensive ground testing to enhance the lander's robustness. Union Minister Jitendra Singh noted that India's space sector could evolve into a $1 trillion economy, highlighting the impact of recent US agreements and domestic policy changes fostering public-private partnerships. The spacecraft will utilize ISRO's Launch Vehicle Mark-3 for deployment.
