India's Defence Ministry Approves ₹2.38 Lakh Crore for Military Upgrades Across Army, Air Force, Coast Guard

India's Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) approved defence procurement proposals valued at ₹2.38 lakh crore (approximately $25 billion) to enhance military capabilities across the Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard. This decision increases total approvals for the current financial year to ₹6.73 lakh crore.
Key acquisitions for the Army include the Air Defence Tracked System, Dhanush Gun System, and Armoured Piercing Tank Ammunition. The Air Force will receive Medium Transport Aircraft and S-400 surface-to-air missile systems, while the Coast Guard will benefit from Heavy Duty Air Cushion Vehicles. This marks the highest annual procurement total, reflecting India's commitment to modernizing its armed forces.
