India's Energy Storage Market Grows to 224 GWh; New Solar Facility and Wind Test Rig Launched
India's energy storage market has expanded significantly, growing from 122 GWh to 224 GWh in one year. The project pipeline includes 60 GWh under execution, 80 GWh in tender stages, and 35 GWh awarded. The sector will see nearly 5 GWh of new capacity commissioned this year. Additionally, Eastman Auto & Power has launched an 800-MW solar manufacturing facility in Haryana, while Flender India unveiled a large test rig for wind-power gearboxes in Walajabad.

India's energy storage sector has seen rapid growth, with the stationary energy storage market increasing from 122 GWh to 224 GWh within a year. The project pipeline includes 60 GWh under execution, 80 GWh in various tendering stages, and 35 GWh awarded, totaling 92 GWh for BESS projects.
The pumped storage projects have also surged from 50 GWh to 132 GWh. Eastman Auto & Power Limited has commissioned an 800-MW solar PV manufacturing facility in Sonipat, Haryana, aiming to provide integrated solar-plus-storage systems. Flender India launched a test rig for wind-power gearboxes in Walajabad, capable of handling high torque and force standards.
