India's PRAGATI Framework Monitors 53 Power Sector Projects Worth Rs 4.12 Trillion
India's PRAGATI framework is currently monitoring 53 power sector projects valued at Rs 4.12 trillion, including various types of energy initiatives such as transmission and thermal projects. The Power Grid Corporation of India leads with 20 commissioned projects, while challenges like land acquisition and environmental clearances persist. Since its launch in 2015, PRAGATI has enhanced project execution and improved power availability across the nation.

The 53 power sector projects reviewed at the Prime Minister's level have a combined value of Rs 4.12 trillion, including 27 transmission, 14 thermal, nine hydropower, and three coal mine projects. Power Grid Corporation of India leads with 20 commissioned projects, followed by NTPC with 14.
Among 10 near-completion projects, Power Grid, NTPC, NHPC, THDC, and Sterlite each have two. Launched in 2015, the PRAGATI framework monitors key infrastructure projects, tracking 237 projects worth Rs 10.53 trillion, with 108 projects valued at Rs 6 trillion under construction.
Challenges faced include land acquisition, environmental clearances, and coordination issues. PRAGATI has improved project execution and increased power availability.
