Indigenous-Owned Nation to Nation Water Utilizes Japanese Technology for Wastewater Treatment
Nation to Nation Water, an Indigenous-owned company, leverages Japanese technology to improve wastewater treatment. Their initiatives aim to address long-standing drinking water advisories in First Nations communities, providing sustainable solutions.

Nation to Nation Water, incorporated in December 2025, utilizes Japanese technology for wastewater treatment across various sectors. The company collaborates with partners like LM Wastewater and FujiClean to employ the Jokaso treatment units, designed for compact installation.
A pilot project at Calgary's Pine Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility, funded by Alberta Innovates, assessed the Jokaso's performance in cold climates. The goal is to establish reliable drinking and wastewater systems in Indigenous communities, which often face challenges with existing systems becoming inoperable. The company is focused on fostering relationships that prioritize community needs and sustainable practices.
