Indonesia Announces 700 MHz and 2.6 GHz Frequency Auction Results; Indonet Expands Fiber Optic Network
The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) of Indonesia will soon announce the results of the frequency auction for 700 MHz and 2.6 GHz, which is crucial for enhancing mobile broadband and 5G services. Indonet has operationalized a third underground fiber optic route, increasing its network by 141%, thereby improving connectivity for industrial and data center sectors.

The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) is set to unveil the outcomes of its frequency auction for 700 MHz and 2.6 GHz in the coming days after completing all bidding phases. Three cellular operators, including PT Indosat Tbk, PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel), and PT XLSMART Telecom Sejahtera Tbk, participated in the auction.
Concurrently, Indonet has launched a third underground fiber optic corridor, now totaling approximately 850 kilometers, enhancing its capacity for high availability services. The expansion reflects a 141% increase since 2024, supporting the growing demand for reliable connectivity in Indonesia’s industrial and data center landscape. This development is essential for fostering the digital economy and improving overall internet service quality across the nation.
