Industria Gas Technici to Integrate 2MW Electrolyser for Green Hydrogen Production in Italy
Industria Gas Technici (IGAT), a subsidiary of SIAD, plans to integrate a 2MW PEM electrolyser at its Pignataro Maggiore facility to produce green hydrogen. The project, funded by Italy's Hydrogen Valley programme, aims to enhance energy autonomy and reduce operating costs. The timeline for bringing the electrolyser online has not been disclosed. Under Legislative Decree 5/2026, 42% of hydrogen used in industrial applications must be RFNBO-compliant by 2030.

Industria Gas Technici (IGAT) will add a 2MW electrolyser to its operations in Pignataro Maggiore, Italy, to produce green hydrogen. This initiative, in collaboration with IMI, aims to decarbonize IGAT's industrial gas operations, which currently include nitrogen, oxygen, and argon production.
A portion of the hydrogen will be used internally to improve energy autonomy and manage costs. The project is financed by Italy's Hydrogen Valley programme, supporting green hydrogen initiatives. Legislative Decree 5/2026 mandates that by 2030, 42% of hydrogen in industrial applications must be renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBO)-compliant.
