Infinium and On Launch World's First EVA Midsole from Captured Carbon
Infinium's eNaphtha enables On's Cloud X 5, the first sportswear midsole made from captured carbon, at commercial scale. This collaboration signifies a shift in sustainable materials, advancing the use of renewable resources in consumer products.

Infinium's eNaphtha, derived from waste CO₂ and renewable hydrogen, supplies On's Cloud X 5, marking the first commercial application of captured carbon in EVA foam for sportswear. The eNaphtha, produced at Infinium's Project Pathfinder facility in Texas, is chemically identical to traditional naphtha, allowing for integration into existing petrochemical manufacturing without changes.
Beginning in 2024, Infinium has supplied eNaphtha to Borouge International in Finland for conversion into e-ethylene and subsequently into EVA. This collaboration aims to eliminate virgin fossil-based feedstocks from On's products, achieving over one million Cloud X 5 pairs produced four years ahead of schedule.
The supply chain is certified by ISCC PLUS, ensuring sustainable practices. Infinium is also developing Project Roadrunner in West Texas to further expand its renewable production.
