Inpex Raises 2026 Profit Forecast by 46% to Record 510 Billion Yen
Inpex Corp has increased its net profit projection for 2026 to 510 billion yen (approximately US$3.22 billion), a 46% rise driven by higher oil prices and robust LNG production from the Ichthys project in Australia. The company also plans to enhance its annual dividend and implement a share buyback program, indicating strong financial health amid geopolitical risks.

Inpex Corp predicts a net profit of 510 billion yen for 2026, up from previous estimates of 350-450 billion yen, reflecting a 46% increase. For January-June 2026, the company reported a net profit of 263 billion yen, a 17.7% year-over-year increase.
Inpex is enhancing its annual dividend to 112 yen per share and initiating a share buyback of up to 50 million shares valued at 140 billion yen. Despite a 30% decline in crude oil sales from Abu Dhabi due to regional conflict, LNG shipments from Ichthys are expected to exceed 120 cargoes in 2026.
The company remains committed to the LNG Abadi project in Indonesia, aiming for a final investment decision by mid-2027. Inpex's financial performance underscores the significance of oil prices and LNG production while navigating geopolitical risks that may impact operations.
