Intel Certifies Baltimore Aircoil Company's Immersion Cooling Solution for Data Centers
Baltimore Aircoil Company (BAC) has achieved Intel certification for its immersion cooling tank, part of the Intel Data Centre Certified Solution for Immersion Cooling, applicable to the latest Intel Xeon processors. The collaborative evaluation involved BAC, Intel, ExxonMobil, Hypertec, and Micron, emphasizing partnerships in developing sustainable cooling systems.
The certification includes the Xeon Processor Single-Phase Immersion Warranty Rider, providing guidance on immersion-cooled infrastructure compatibility. Testing occurred at Intel's Hillsboro, Oregon facility, utilizing BAC's immersion cooling tanks with patented CorTex technology to assess performance and reliability.
BAC's COBALT immersion cooling system features an indoor tank and outdoor heat rejection system, aiming for low Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) values. This certification supports BAC's commitment to immersion cooling technology advancement and encourages industry adoption while ensuring performance and reliability standards.
