Intelsat New Dawn Satellite Launch Delayed by Arianespace
The launch of the Intelsat New Dawn satellite aboard an Ariane 5 rocket was delayed due to an automatic shutdown. Arianespace will review data before attempting another launch. The project, estimated at $250 million, is primarily funded by African institutions, with Intelsat providing equity. Nedbank Capital arranged the non-recourse debt financing from a consortium of lenders.

The launch of the Intelsat New Dawn satellite was delayed after an automatic shutdown during the launch sequence. Arianespace will review data before scheduling a new attempt. The project, valued at $250 million, is approximately 15% equity and 85% debt financed, with around 90% of the funding sourced from African institutions.
Intelsat holds a 74.9% equity stake, while Convergence Partners and its affiliates contribute the remaining 25.1%. Nedbank Capital is facilitating the debt financing with a consortium that includes the Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa and the African Development Bank.
