Intesa Sanpaolo has secured a €162.3 million financing deal for Grimaldi Euromed to acquire three energy-efficient Pure Car & Truck Carrier ships, scheduled for delivery in 2026. This investment is part of Grimaldi Group's broader strategy to modernize its fleet with a total expenditure exceeding USD 1.6 billion for 17 new vessels, incorporating advanced green technologies. The financing, structured as a Green Loan, underscores Intesa Sanpaolo's commitment to supporting sustainable initiatives in the maritime sector.

Intesa Sanpaolo has finalized a €162.3 million financing agreement for Grimaldi Euromed to acquire three next-generation Pure Car & Truck Carrier ships: Grande Egitto, Grande Pacifico, and Grande Oceania, set for delivery in 2026. This financing supports Grimaldi Group's sustainable growth strategy and fleet modernization efforts, which include a total investment of over USD 1.6 billion for 17 new vessels ordered between 2022 and 2023.
The ships feature advanced technologies such as ammonia readiness, lithium-ion mega batteries, solar panels, and air lubrication systems. The financing is structured as a Green Loan, reflecting Intesa Sanpaolo's commitment to the energy transition, with €84.7 billion disbursed for green projects from 2021 to 2025. The partnership aims to enhance sustainability in the maritime sector, aligning with both companies' long-term goals of reducing environmental impact.
