Invenergy, NVIDIA, and Emerald AI Collaborate on Flexible AI Factory Initiative
Invenergy has partnered with NVIDIA and Emerald AI to create flexible AI factories designed to enhance grid responsiveness and accelerate deployment. This initiative aims to unlock significant electric capacity and improve energy efficiency in the U.S. grid by integrating AI and energy systems.

Invenergy, NVIDIA, and Emerald AI are collaborating to develop next-generation AI factories, leveraging the NVIDIA Vera Rubin DSX reference design and DSX Flex software. These facilities will utilize co-located generation and energy storage to provide flexible energy solutions, aimed at supporting quicker grid interconnections and meeting the increasing energy demands of AI applications.
Pilot projects are set to begin at the NVIDIA AI Factory Research Center in Virginia by the end of 2026. The collaboration seeks to optimize energy systems, enhancing intelligence-per-watt efficiency, and enabling faster deployment of AI infrastructure while benefiting local communities. This initiative is critical as electric load growth accelerates in the U.S., driven by the demand from large-scale AI and data center operations.
