Investors Express Concerns Over Delays in Ghana's Ewoyaa Lithium Project Lease Ratification

STRATEGIC MINERALS

Investors in Atlantic Lithium have raised concerns about the delay in ratifying the Ewoyaa Lithium Project lease in Ghana. The lease was first signed on October 20, 2023, but political gridlock prevented its ratification.

A revised lease was signed in 2025 and presented to parliament on November 11, including a sliding royalty scale of 5% to 12% based on lithium prices. The lease was withdrawn on December 10, 2025, for further consultations but was re-laid on December 19, 2025. Despite 25 parliamentary sittings, progress has stalled, leading to declining investor confidence in Ghana's mining sector.
