Iola to Launch 10-Megawatt Data Center This Fall
A 10-megawatt data center by Vine Energy is set to open in Iola, Kansas, this fall, enhancing local industrial growth. This facility will utilize existing infrastructure and increase city revenue without raising property taxes.

Vine Energy is developing a 10-megawatt data center in Iola, Kansas, expected to be operational this fall. The site, located on Marshmallow Lane near Russell Stover Chocolates, was acquired after the company contacted the city about available industrial land.
The city’s water treatment plant can handle up to 5 million gallons daily, accommodating the data center's utility needs without straining resources. City Administrator Matt Rehder highlighted that this project would stimulate industrial development without increasing truck traffic or property taxes.
Concerns about health risks and water usage were noted but deemed manageable. This initiative may attract further industrial growth in the area.
