Ireland Launches Procurement for EuroHPC Supercomputer CASPIr
Minister James Lawless announces the procurement process for the CASPIr supercomputer, a EuroHPC initiative in Ireland, jointly procured by University of Galway and EuroHPC JU, to enhance national computing capacity.

Ireland's Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, James Lawless, has initiated the procurement process for the CASPIr supercomputer, part of the EuroHPC project. The University of Galway and EuroHPC Joint Undertaking will jointly manage the procurement, which includes acquisition, delivery, installation, and maintenance.
Once operational, CASPIr will improve high-performance computing capacity for research and innovation. The Irish Centre for High-End Computing (ICHEC) will oversee its management, with €20M in funding from EuroHPC JU and additional Exchequer support from DFHERIS.
