Isar Aerospace Plans Second Launch of Spectrum Rocket on January 21
Isar Aerospace is set to launch its Spectrum rocket for the second time on January 21 from Andøya, Norway, pending weather conditions. The mission, named 'Onward and Upward', will carry five CubeSats and an experiment, supported by the ESA's Boost! program to enhance European space access. Following a brief first test flight in March 2025, Isar aims to validate critical systems and plans to produce five additional rockets at a new facility near Munich, opening in 2026.

Isar Aerospace will attempt its second launch of the Spectrum rocket from Andøya, Norway, on January 21 at 21:00 CET, pending weather conditions. The mission, named 'Onward and Upward', will carry five CubeSats and an experiment.
The launch is supported by the ESA's Boost! program, aiming to enhance European access to space. The first test flight in March 2025 lasted only 30 seconds before failure. Isar aims to validate critical systems and has plans to produce five more rockets at a new facility near Munich, set to open in 2026. The Spectrum rocket is 28 meters tall and capable of launching up to 1 ton in LEO.
