ISRO's PSLV-C62 Mission Failure Impacts Hyderabad Start-ups and Satellite Launches
ISRO's PSLV-C62 mission failure on January 12 resulted in the loss of 16 satellites, significantly impacting Hyderabad start-ups such as Dhruva Space, TakeMe2Space, and Eon Space Labs. The failure delays critical projects, including Eon Space Lab's MIRA payload and Dhruva Space's previously successful missions, raising concerns about the reliability of future PSLV launches. Start-ups are now calling for a rapid recovery and alternative launch options.

ISRO's PSLV-C62 mission on January 12 failed, resulting in the loss of 16 satellites, affecting Hyderabad start-ups Dhruva Space, TakeMe2Space, and Eon Space Labs. Dhruva Space had five deployers onboard, including satellites like Thybolt-3 and MOI-1.
The 14-kg MOI-1 was intended to act as a data center in space. The failure delays the in-orbit validation of Eon Space Lab's MIRA payload, a miniaturized space telescope. Start-ups expressed the need for a quick recovery and an alternative launch vehicle.
Dhruva Space had previously enabled 10 missions, providing various support technologies like the P-DoT platform and ground stations. The failure raises concerns about future PSLV missions and the reliability of the launch vehicle.
