iTek Drives Expands Operations in South Africa for Enhanced Industrial Services
iTek Drives has relocated to a larger facility in Meadowdale, South Africa, to accommodate increasing sales and improve service delivery. The new premises support assembly, training, and partnerships with electric motor companies, enhancing their role as a single-source supplier.

iTek Drives has moved to larger premises in Meadowdale, South Africa, to support increasing sales and expand operations. The new facility includes a warehouse for receiving and dispatch, a workshop for product assembly and repair, and a showroom for variable speed drives (VFDs).
This strategic relocation aims to simplify the customer experience by providing integrated motor and drive systems from one supplier. iTek plans to collaborate with Emac to offer various types of motors and has recently sold VFDs and control panels to a copper mine in Zambia. The proximity to OR Tambo International Airport facilitates faster delivery.
The company has been promoting the Optidrive brand in Africa since 2016, and in 2024, it opened a testing and programming center in Johannesburg. Such expansions may enhance competitive positioning but also increase operational complexities.
