iXAfrica Selected to Host Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Region in Nairobi, Kenya
iXAfrica has been chosen as the host partner for Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure region in Nairobi, Kenya, aimed at utilizing renewable energy and improving connectivity. This marks Oracle's second cloud region in Africa, following the Johannesburg region established in January 2022, with the Nairobi data center planned to offer over 20MW of power capacity. Additional expansion with a second campus in Nairobi is also in the works.

iXAfrica has been selected as the host partner for Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) region in Nairobi, Kenya. This collaboration aims to leverage renewable energy and enhance connectivity. Plans for the OCI region were announced in early 2024, with no specific launch date provided.
This will be Oracle's second cloud region in Africa, following its Johannesburg region opened in January 2022. The NBOX1 data center in Nairobi will offer over 20MW power capacity, with phases of 4.5MW and 18MW planned. A second campus is also planned in Nairobi.
