Jackson City Council Approves Regional Alliance for West County Line Road Project
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
The Jackson City Council approved a regional alliance with Madison County, Hinds County, and Ridgeland to improve the West County Line Road corridor. This infrastructure project, motivated by a new Amazon Web Services data center, aims to expand the road to four lanes and is estimated to cost $33 million, with Madison County leading funding.
The project will be executed in three segments, starting near Tougaloo College. Councilwoman Tina Clay confirmed Jackson will not incur costs for the project, as Madison County will sponsor it. The resolution passed unanimously, aligning with previous regional cooperation efforts.
