Jamaica Launches Phase VIII of Bauxite Community Development Programme to Improve Water Access
The Jamaican government has launched Phase VIII of the Bauxite Community Development Programme (BCDP) to enhance potable water access in bauxite-producing communities. Announced by Minister Floyd Green, the initiative aims to address infrastructure gaps caused by mining activities. The program will prioritize practical water solutions, with ongoing projects such as one in Hammonds in collaboration with Jamalco. Elected representatives are encouraged to propose additional projects to further improve community development.
