JEDEC Advances DDR5 MRDIMM to 12,800 MT/s for Enhanced Datacenter Bandwidth
JEDEC has upgraded DDR5 MRDIMM specifications, achieving speeds of 12,800 MT/s, a 45% increase over prior versions. This advancement addresses the growing bandwidth demands of AI datacenters, essential for future-proofing high-performance computing.

JEDEC has announced enhancements to DDR5 MRDIMM memory, achieving speeds of up to 12,800 MT/s, a significant 45% increase over the original 8800 MT/s introduced two years ago. The JC-45 Committee is finalizing the Gen2 standard to support these high-performance designs, which will facilitate increased bandwidth for next-generation computing.
New standards, including JESD82-552 and the forthcoming JESD82-542, will define data buffer functionalities and improve signal integrity. The developments respond to the escalating demands for memory in AI datacenters, highlighting the industry's need for scalable, high-speed memory solutions.
