Jefferson City Council Accepts Completion of $18 Million Wastewater Treatment Plant Project

The Jefferson City Council held a meeting where they accepted the certificate of completion for the $18 million Wastewater Treatment Plant improvement project. They approved a resolution to sell general obligation bonds, previously approved in February 2025, for up to $2 million to fund the Westwood Drive sidewalk project, a new fire truck, and an asphalt overlay project on McKinley Street.

The Council also increased a facade grant for The Public House by $2,834, bringing the total to $62,834, and tabled another facade grant request for the Greene County Mercantile for future review. A five-year maintenance agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation was also renewed.
