Jeonju Opens Hydrogen Storage Tank Certification Testing Center for 600L Containers
The Hydrogen Storage Cylinder Certification Test Center has opened in Jeonju City, North Jeolla Province. This facility, the only one in South Korea capable of testing 600L hydrogen storage tanks, aims to reduce domestic companies' reliance on overseas certification and promote technological independence. The center is equipped with advanced testing equipment and is expected to enhance the domestic carbon fiber market by accelerating commercialization, while also preventing core technology leakage.

Jeonju City in North Jeolla Province has opened the Hydrogen Storage Cylinder Certification Test Center at the Korea Carbon Industry Promotion Agency. The center, which occupies 1,344 pyeong of land and has an 800 pyeong building, is the only facility in Korea capable of testing 600-liter hydrogen storage tanks.
With an investment of KRW 21 billion, it features eight advanced testing systems, including hydrogen gas pressurization and burst testing equipment. The center aims to reduce companies' reliance on overseas certification, promote technological independence, and expand the domestic carbon fiber market by facilitating product commercialization. Plans are in place to develop the center into a global testing hub.
