Jharkhand Power Supply Enhanced with NKTL Substation Connectivity
The energization of the 220 kV line-in line-out (LILO) at the NKTL substation boosts power supply by 190 MW in Jharkhand. This development addresses low-voltage challenges and improves reliability across key regions during peak demand periods.

On May 7, the 220 kV line-in line-out (LILO) of the Govindpur-Dumka double-circuit transmission line was energized at the NKTL substation in Dhanbad, facilitating the flow of approximately 190 MW of electricity. Of this, about 100 MW is allocated to Dumka and 90 MW to Govindpur.
This enhancement is projected to improve voltage stability and power reliability in the Santhal Pargana, Giridih, and Dhanbad regions, especially during high-demand summer months. Additionally, the upgrade will bolster the JUSNL network, alleviate pressure on the Maithon-Dumka line, and lessen reliance on the Damodar Valley Corporation in the affected areas.
