Jharkhand Showcases Resource Wealth at Davos for Clean-Energy Development

GREEN STEELENERGY STORAGE

A delegation from Jharkhand, led by Chief Minister Soren, will present the state's vast mineral resources at Davos, highlighting its significance in the clean-energy economy. Jharkhand, located on the Singhbhum geological belt, contains iron ore, copper, coal, bauxite, uranium, and other minerals essential for renewable energy and advanced manufacturing.

Historically, these resources have supported major industries, including Tata Steel and public enterprises like SAIL. The state is transitioning from raw mineral extraction to processing and manufacturing to meet global demands for critical minerals used in clean technologies.

The delegation will engage in policy dialogues and investment meetings, promoting opportunities in green steel and battery materials. As Jharkhand celebrates 25 years of statehood, it aims to position its mineral wealth as vital for India’s energy security and the global clean-energy transition, with a new Critical Minerals Centre established at IIT Dhanbad.
