Jim Steiner Elected Chair of Riverside Transit Agency Board for 2026
Jim Steiner, Councilmember of the City of Corona, has been elected as the Chair of the Riverside Transit Agency Board for 2026. Steiner, who has been on the board since 2018 and an officer since 2024, will oversee strategic direction, establish priorities, and represent the agency publicly. He succeeds Steve Hemenway, Councilmember of the City of Riverside.

The Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) Board of Directors has elected Jim Steiner, a City of Corona Councilmember, as Chair for 2026. Steiner, a board member since 2018, will direct board strategy, set organizational priorities, lead meetings, and represent the agency at events.
He succeeds Steve Hemenway. Steiner highlighted the importance of the role as the agency introduces its first hydrogen fuel buses and transitions some fixed-route services back in-house, marking a significant investment in the agency.
