Jinju City Launches 2026 Vehicle Emissions Reduction Project with 3.119 Billion Won Investment
Jinju City will implement a vehicle emissions reduction project in 2026, investing 3.119 billion won this year. The funding will support early scrapping of 1,085 vehicles, installation of emission reduction devices, and engine replacements for construction equipment. Specific measures include increasing subsidies for Class 4 vehicles and providing support for electric, hydrogen, and hybrid vehicle purchases. The city will also fund LPG conversions for two school buses.

Jinju City announced the launch of its vehicle emissions reduction project in 2026, investing 3.119 billion won this year. The initiative will support early scrapping of 1,085 vehicles, including diesel vehicles with emission levels 4 and 5, and older construction equipment, with 2.077 billion won allocated for this purpose.
The city will raise the basic subsidy rate to 70% for Class 4 vehicles under 3.5 tons and offer additional support for electric, hydrogen, and hybrid vehicles. Additionally, 1.1 billion won will be spent on low-emission measures, including support for the installation of emission reduction devices and engine replacements.
The city will also provide 3 million won for the conversion of two school buses to LPG, contingent on the scrapping of diesel vehicles. Applications for support must be submitted by the end of the year.
