Johnson Matthey Launches Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine Facility in Gothenburg

Johnson Matthey has opened its first hydrogen internal combustion engine (H₂ICE) facility in Gothenburg. The facility is designed to test emission control systems and enhance the company's capabilities in heavy-duty vehicle testing.
It features an on-site hydrogen supply and storage area, including a compressor, intermediate storage tank, and systems for measuring hydrogen flow and exhaust emissions. The facility is part of a £2.5 million investment announced in July, to be implemented over three years.
