Johor Begins Construction of RM310 Million Integrated Scheduled Waste Hub to Support Circular Economy

Johor is developing an Integrated Scheduled Waste Hub at a cost of RM310 million, managed by Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor (KPRJ). Construction started on December 15 and is expected to finish by June 15 next year.
The facility, spanning 18.6 hectares near Seelong landfill, will feature 10 main facilities, including a thermal treatment plant with a capacity of 100 metric tonnes per day, a chemical treatment plant, and a secure landfill with a 3.7 million cubic metre capacity. It will handle 76 types of scheduled waste and create 150 jobs, aiming to boost the local economy and align with global environmental goals.
