João Campos Criticizes Pernambuco's Lack of Proactive Investment Efforts
Recife Mayor João Campos expressed concerns that Pernambuco is not actively pursuing major investments. During a meeting with construction and real estate leaders, he noted that neighboring states are attracting significant investments, highlighting a $200 billion TikTok data center in Ceará as an example of successful mobilization. Campos emphasized the need for a more vigorous approach to investment attraction, reflecting on the investment surge during his father's governance from 2007 to 2014. Despite his criticism, he remains optimistic about future opportunities.

Recife Mayor João Campos stated on January 24 that Pernambuco is not proactively attracting significant investments. He made this remark during a meeting with leaders from the Construction Industry Union and the Real Estate Companies Association in Pernambuco.
Campos pointed out that neighboring states are announcing major investments, with President Lula actively supporting the region. He referenced the $200 billion TikTok data center project in Ceará as an example of effective investment mobilization.
Campos noted that during his father's tenure from 2007 to 2014, there was substantial investment activity in the state. He acknowledged that other states have progressed more rapidly in attracting investments, which is not a cause for celebration, but he remains hopeful for future opportunities.
